to a new year!!
So have not written since September or the funeral, made through the holidays without mom but still feels like sometimes like it didn't really happen. Just so thankful that mom blessed with so many wonderful friends and family to get through, hoping this new year will bring more blessing from my mom. I would like to thank everybody who showed their support and made it to the funeral the count was over 500 (+) people. Mom had touched so many lives and the lives of others and will continue to live on her legacy that she left behind. As for me I went ahead and transferred jobs within MD Anderson so I could have less stress better hours, no weekends and no holidays til I can start finding myself again since moms passing. Thanks for all the love support and prayers, and all the cards that I'm receiving. Still in the process of cleaning out mom's house and hopefully to be put up on the market by the spring time. Hope everyone has a safe and blessed new year..

i'm so sorry
I am sorry to inform everyone that Paulette passed away at 3am this morning. She was in the company of her loving daughter Allison and 2 life long friends. Ally would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers.
As soon as I find out the funeral information I will post it up here. As you all know losing a parent can be overwhelming. Please continue to contact Allison through this blog and facebook, but please try to limit phone calls and visits for right now.
This poem brought me a lot of comfort last week.
Gone from my Eyes
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"
"Gone where?"
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!" there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: 'Here she comes!"
And that is dying.

peaceful
Paulette is very comfortable and appears to be at peace. She is still being given pain medication and a medication to help control congestion. She is unresponsive, but we believe she can still hear us. Her heart rate is elevated, but all of her other vital signs remain stable. Allison appreciates all of the prayers. Please keep them coming.

Wednesday
Paulette is a little more sedated today. She started to experience more pain so pain medication has been given more frequently. It is working and she is now able to rest comfortably. Allison is still holding strong. She enjoyed reading all of the comments. Please continue to feel free to leave your thoughts and prayers for her and the family to read.
